Artist's note:
Yellow flower fields
This is my first time painting on Delrin, a very high-strength, stable plastic. I chose a subject to play on the toughness of the material—a soft field of flowers. I took inspiration from the fields of flowers that are sometimes along highways—for me it’s a similar feeling, this hard concrete jungle juxtaposed with sudden bright swaths of soft natural beauty. To push this even further, I opted for a loose representation, letting the mixing of the paint show on the canvas.
