♦ The Franklin-Christoph Model pocket 40 fountain pen was a small version of the original "Panther" still in the long cap style, with extremely durable acrylic, and high performance steel or 18k nibs. Light weight and perfectly balanced for comfortable writing. The pocket 40 was designed to be clip free, to slide in little pockets or slots easily. The p40 was always popular without a clip, but was offered in a clipped version for an additional $10.
♦ High Performance Steel Nibs were available in extra-fine, fine, medium, broad, 1.1 cursive calligraphy, and 1.4 cursive calligraphy, for the base price. We also offered upgrades of 18K solid gold factory nibs and additional specialty nibs customized by nib master Michael Masuyama which include options of .25mm Needlepoint, .8mm Med. Cursive Italic, .9mm Medium Stub, 1.0mm Broad Cursive Italic, or 1.1mm Broad Stub. We also offered out own custom S.I.G. nibs for the last run of the p40s.
♦ Color combinations over the years not counting color prototypes: Classic Black w/ Cinnamaroon Finial Top - Creme' & Maroon - Solid Emerald - Smoke & Ice - Cinnamaroon & Ice - Emerald & Ice - Ruby & Ice - Black & Cherry Ice.
♦ This was a cartridge pen, but also can be used as an "eye dropper," (filling the entire barrel with ink). We recommend silicone grease on the interior section to barrel threads, and the nib housing to grip section threads for extra protection if used as an eye dropper.
